It is an alternative to belt mounting that gives emergency preparedness decon teams a hands-free way to deploy the system. Acting as both a carrier and a blower suspension system, it improves ergonomics and reduces wearer fatigue.
When the system is not in use, the backpack serves as a storage pack for the Sentinel XL CBRN system components. The lay-flat butyl hood is designed to stow easily in the backpack.
The Sentinel Backpack is included in the Sentinel XL CBRN Deluxe Systems with rechargeable NiMH battery (S-5000-02) or alkaline battery (S-5000-08), and in the Sentinel XL HP Deluxe System (S-3000-02). It is also available individually for compatible Sentinel XL systems.
