This robust blower accommodates three applications: infectious-disease protection with Sentinel XL head covers and hoods and HEPA cartridges, hazardous-drug protection with the same hoods and OV/AG/HE cartridges, and CBRN protection for decon teams with the CBRN butyl hood and CBRN cartridges.
The blower has a rugged, sealed nylon protective shell with a floating polycarbonate internal blower assembly, and its dual-chamber design provides enhanced durability. It weighs 1.0 lb without battery, delivers more than 230 lpm with HP hood systems and 195 lpm nominal in the CBRN configuration, and runs at a noise level below 75 dB. A low-voltage alarm with a flashing LED and buzzer alerts the wearer.
Cartridges thread into 40 mm military/NATO-style ports with integral blower gaskets: two HEPA P100 cartridges, or three OV/AG/HE cartridges or CBRN CAP 2 cartridges. The blower runs on the Sentinel XL Rechargeable NiMH Battery Pack or the Sentinel XL Alkaline Battery Pack, both of which snap directly onto the blower, and it attaches to the Sentinel Quick-Loc Waist Belt or the Sentinel XL Backpack. The Sentinel Extendable Breathing Tube, which extends from 19 to 48 in, is available as an accessory.
The blower is included in every Sentinel XL system and in the Sentinel XL HP PAPR Base Kit with Rechargeable NiMH Battery. NIOSH approvals apply to specific assemblies of approved components, so use it with the hoods, cartridges and batteries specified for your configuration. Check airflow with the Sentinel Flow Meter before use.
