Depending on your delivery address, taxes may vary at checkout.The S-4012 OV/AG/HE cartridge combines chemical and particulate protection in one threaded cartridge for the Sentinel XL HP powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR). NIOSH-approved, it protects against organic vapors and acid gases, including chlorine, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, chlorine dioxide and hydrogen fluoride. It also provides HE (HEPA) filtration with 99.97% efficiency, and the filter media is strongly resistant to oil.
Choose it when a task involves solvent vapors or acid gases as well as dust or powder, for example in pharmaceutical blending, milling, weighing and dispensing, or in chemical processing. ILC Dover has also tested the S-4012 against sporicidal disinfectants based on peracetic acid, hydrogen peroxide and acetic acid, which suits teams that disinfect cleanrooms, laboratories and healthcare facilities.
Choosing the right Sentinel cartridge: for particulates only, with no gas or vapor hazard, use Sentinel HEPA Cartridges (S-4002). The S-4012 is not intended for ammonia or formaldehyde, which ILC Dover's S-2027 Multi-Gas cartridge covers. It is also not a CBRN cartridge; for CBRN work, use Sentinel CBRN Cartridges (S-2016).
OSHA requires gas and vapor cartridges to be replaced on a change-out schedule. The S-4012 technical bulletin in the Download Area gives breakthrough times for a range of solvents and concentrations to help you set one.
Which Sentinel cartridge do I need?
All three cartridge types thread into the same 40 mm ports on the Sentinel XL blower, so the choice comes down to the hazard you are protecting against.

All Sentinel cartridges are air-purifying and do not supply oxygen, so none are for use in oxygen-deficient atmospheres. Use each cartridge only in the Sentinel configurations listed on its NIOSH approval label, and follow the user instructions.
