Depending on your delivery address, taxes may vary at checkout.The Sentinel XL HP PAPR Base Kit with Rechargeable NiMH Battery contains the core components of a Sentinel XL powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR): the blower, rechargeable NiMH battery pack, smart battery charger, flow meter, breathing tube, Quick-Loc waist belt and duffel bag. The hood or head cover and filters are chosen separately, so one base kit can be set up for the protection a team needs. The Sentinel Extendable Breathing Tube, which extends from 19 to 48 in, is available as an accessory.
The kit is NIOSH approved when used with the Sentinel XL Head Cover, Sentinel XL Clear Hood or Sentinel XL BioShield Full Hood. The head cover has an assigned protection factor (APF) of 25, or 2.5 times the protection of an N95, and is compatible with stethoscopes. The clear hood and BioShield full hood each have an APF of 1,000, or 100 times the protection of an N95, and the BioShield hood's sewn and taped seams pass ASTM F1670-14 and ASTM F1671-13 testing. HEPA cartridges are used for infectious-disease protection, and OV/AG/HE cartridges for hazardous-drug protection.
The rechargeable NiMH battery pack has a nominal run time of up to 8 hours, approximately 500 charge/discharge cycles and a 5-hour recharge time. The included smart battery charger switches automatically to trickle charge and shows its status with a red/green LED. The rugged, dual-chamber Sentinel XL blower delivers more than 230 lpm in HP hood systems, and a low-voltage alarm with a flashing LED and buzzer alerts the wearer.
Sentinel XL conversion kits supply the hood or head cover, breathing tube and cartridges together: the HP head cover, clear hood and BioShield full hood conversion kits with HEPA cartridges, the HD BioShield full hood conversion kit with OV/AG/HE cartridges, and the CBRN conversion kit for hospital decon teams.

Each head top works with HEPA cartridges for infectious disease protection or OV/AG/HE cartridges for hazardous drug protection. These systems are air-purifying and do not supply oxygen, so they are not for use in oxygen-deficient atmospheres.
